Radka, how did you think of such a good app?
I wanted to appreciate the invisible but at the same time indispensable work that SOMEONE does in our offices, but no one knows who. Surely you know it yourself... you forget to clean the plate in the kitchen after yourself and when you come back for it, it's already in the dishwasher. And that full dishwasher is cleared in no time! Or maybe a fresh filter that's always on the kitchen counter... WTF, who keeps cooking it?! In short, I wanted to de-anonymize and appreciate all these heroes who do such work for us (and for us). And who knows, maybe this public appointment of worthy colleagues will motivate others to join the club Worthy leprechaunsthey added.
The app was created during the Futured Hackathon. How was the development going and how many people were involved?
Only I worked on it, and I would say that I improvised quite a bit at times. In fact, I originally wanted to join another team — to dedicate myself to my colleague Honza Pollak's groundbreaking project, the Jedu app (about that next time, note the editorial staff)that encourages carpooling to offices and back home. Unfortunately, due to adversity (I was waiting for a courier to deliver my seat), I worked part of the hackathon at home, from where communication with the rest of the Jed team was problematic. I felt that I might be more of a burden to them and the project's nascent organism, so I separated and decided to come up with my own project. AND Worthy leprechaun was in the world.
What did the Good Goblin teach you?
I looked under the lid of the Slack communication platform and explored its customization and expansion options. At the same time I dusted my Excel skills from high school and has yet to try Google Apps Script's automated script execution.

How does the app actually work?
The whole apka works as an integration into Slack. The good elf has his own channel on Slack, in which everyone can watch a live feed of the good deeds that are taking place in the offices, and at the same time record the deed just done in it. This is done via keyboard shortcuts that trigger predefined workflows.

The app evaluates the deeds every week and shares the results in the public #DEPO channel, where we deal with office matters. The goal, of course, is to pick up the efforts of the most active worthy leprechaun, but at the same time to appreciate all the others who got involved and did good.

In the background of this system are the Slack workflows just mentioned, which write and read from sturdy database in Google Sheets. The system is maintained by an automatic script, which always resets the system on Monday, and thus draws a new start line.
What are your next plans with the app?
If I speak for the entire one-man team Worthy leprechaun, so sure to expand the database of good deeds. For example, it is offered to replenish toilet paper, this is a great office miracle. But first, we need to analyze the problems that are burning us.
There are also various limited editions, and we already have one. It's Christmas Worthy leprechauncontained special holiday messages, but also a limited good deed “I brought candy”, which, as an unbiased observer and taster, I rate very positively.

What other teams did at the Futured Hackathon:
💡 Since we are constantly looking for the right light switch when leaving new offices, one of the teams has developed a neural network-based apk to make hiding easier.
⛺️ App to support sharing of business equipment, books, tents, tools or anything
📚 Expansion of the mobile toolkit with new functionality and the use of a completely new library for communication with the device
🛺 Our eco-wing worked on a Slack app to support carpooling to offices and back home
