Mobile apps are a key part of business. At the same time, many companies think especially of applications for their customers and neglect those for employees and partners. Yes, B2B applications usually have fewer users, while saving a lot of money.

Quick orientation to the introduction

There are basically two types of B2B mobile applications that differ in user base and (not) limited access.

  • B2B applications freely available in the app store. Business clients, employees and other people associated with the company have access to the user interface.
  • B2B applications with limited access, which are especially designed for employees.

Today we will take a closer look at applications that are a work tool for employees and that facilitate work processes and increase work productivity.

4 reasons to consider a B2B application

1 — Office anywhere

Not all employees have the opportunity to work on a computer, sometimes it does not even make sense. Most of the time they are in the field, where they often write notes on paper and then either process them (themselves or someone else does it). It takes a lot of time, and as we know, time is money. The solution is quite simple — an application adapted to the rhythm of work and the field.

2 — Multiple work tools

A good application should take full advantage of the possibilities that mobile phones and tablets offer us. At Futured we work especially with the fact that the phone is something that you always have with you, it allows you to be online, it records the location, you can take pictures and scan things with it, or possibly make use of different sensors, such as acceleration, zoom or the possibility of connecting with other devices via Bluetooth.

3 — Everything in real time

Apps help collect, organize, and process data that provides businesses with useful information about partners, clients, and employees. The obtained data can be linked to existing databases and systems, for example with an ERP system, and thus have a completely up-to-date overview of deliveries, warehouse stocks and transactions. Through the application it is also easy to communicate and send current notifications through notifications.

4 — Streamlining and optimizing processes

You can modernize and speed up operations without the need for demanding training. Employees know how to use applications for their personal productivity and communication, so the cost of training is basically small and one-time. Employees are much more satisfied — they work faster and more comfortably, and they can engage in more creative tasks. We also often hear that they enjoy using modern technology (there is a piece of a child in each of us).

When only dozens of people use the app, saving millions — Grason

For gastro start-up Grason we have developed both B2C and B2B part of the application in which operatives can easily schedule shifts without being tied to a computer or paper. So he does not waste time calling and finding out who has the time, solves everything on the go and learns about the most important changes thanks to notifications. At the same time, the application prepares clear documents for payroll or operational statistics, which it can easily download to your computer.

“The data shows that the operator who has our B2B application can do five times more shifts thanks to it. This makes it possible to move employees from routine administrative tasks to positions that develop the company, for example, improve the service for clients. This is where we see tremendous added value — you can automate a lot of tasks with the app and focus on more creative areas, which also increases employee motivation.”says Karel Mařík from Grason and adds: “The app also reduced our sales costs because we were able to move people from the field to the online environment. Typically, they now manage three times as many appointments. We focused on a smooth process, the human dimension was then solved by a welcome phone call.”

Examples of applications we have developed

Companies and their employees have different needs. For example, storekeepers can use an inventory management app, delivery men and merchants in turn to search for delivery addresses and change delivery status on the go. These are just some examples of the applications we have developed for our clients.

Decathlon - Faster order clearance, less error

Sales are moving online, and the demands for fast and accurate order handling are growing. For the world's largest sports equipment retailer, we created an app that simplified the whole process. It completely takes care of the entire ordering process, including the payment of goods. We have added new extensions, streamlined the order cancellation process. Thanks to the application, the error rate has been reduced and routine tasks have been minimized. We finished our work even before the pandemic — when covid came, Decathlon stores became dispensaries that were ready for the onslaught thanks to the application.

TGC Group — Office on the go

For the TGC Group, a household services company, we have developed an application that consultants use when working in the field. All information is entered directly into the system, thus eliminating paperwork, and with it the error rate of input data decreases. There are tens of gigs of them per month. The great added value of the application is that it fully works even offline, so it does not betray the user even in a small village where the Internet connection is not 100%.

Škoda Auto — All documentation processed directly in the garage

The Portable Check-In (PCI) tablet application streamlines the reception of cars to authorized services, where the service easily enters all data into the application. Therefore, the service technician will go directly through the car with the customer and register everything (for example, take a picture of paint damage) in the tablet application. At the same time, it can generate various logs — so the customer does not have to go to the car service branch after the service check, everything is already handled directly in the garage. We are also responsible for the Service Digital Tool (SDT) application for training service technicians, which includes manuals and tests.

LeoExpress — Maximum overview of passengers and their wishes

Many years ago, we developed an iOS application for stewards for train carriers, through which they could sell and check tickets, have an overview of seat occupancy and also made it possible to order (and pay for) snacks directly from the train carriage.

Finally, let's visualize how much time/money a good application can save you. We asked the TGC group.

“The mobile application in our TGC group is used daily by more than 50 colleagues. Previously, each of them had to devote himself to processing the received documents after field meetings, scanning them into a computer, and then entering them into internal systems. He spent up to an hour a day doing this. Thanks to a mobile application that it can use anytime, anywhere, it can do it in just 20 minutes spread over the course of a day - it can process data right during meetings with clients, during consultation of their needs. And after work, he can go straight home to his family, the lock of the office for processing client data is no longer needed,”says David Otoupalík and adds: “Each of our business consultants saves an average of 5 hours per week or 20 hours per month. In the case of our entire company, that's more than 1,000 hours a month that our colleagues can devote to clients or something else.”

We can create a successful application for you as well.
