How do you connect hardware and software in a way that feels completely effortless? COLOP, a world-leading manufacturer of stamps and marking devices, needed an app for their e-mark GO mobile printer. The in-phone graphic editor had to be simple enough for a total beginner, yet powerful enough to keep advanced users happy.

We use Kotlin Multiplatform for printer communication, while the rest runs natively on both iOS and Android. The editor is gesture-driven: pick from pre-made visuals or upload your own images. Add text. Tweak colors, sizes, and fonts. All of this in landscape mode too – and just as comfortably on tablets. We added versioning with undo functionality – a no-brainer for users, a proper puzzle for us developers.

The app talks to the printer via Wi-Fi and handles offline mode too, so you can create whenever and wherever inspiration strikes. And because COLOP sells worldwide, we built in right-to-left language support, including Arabic.
