Skoda Load-In

Putting multiple boxes in a suitcase is often a nut. The application, which lightens the head of Skoda car owners and fills the trunk to the last inch, had to be quick and intuitive, the process of using it could not take longer than the trial and error loading. At the same time, she had to be practical enough to help, for example, when buying furniture, when you need to quickly find out if the boxes fit in the car parked on the other side of the car park.

We have constructed a virtual model of the trunk divided into 5cm cubes, allowing accurate and fast calculations. In the technical core of the application, we implemented four different algorithms for solving the so-called knapsack problem, the mathematical challenge of optimally folding objects into a limited space. The application then displays the most effective solution using vector masks directly on the display of the mobile device. We've also added practical features: users can enter dimensions manually or use the camera's smart text recognition, just point the lens at the box with the dimensions listed. For even more intuitive app driving, we've integrated AR metering.

After thorough testing and fine-tuning, the app has been integrated into the main Škoda app to make it available to all car owners of the brand, who save time and mental fuel with every major load.
