Fotonaut

Houston, we took an iPad, an aluminium frame, and a whole lot of craftsmanship. Then we built the app that turned it into the smartest photo booth on the market.
Fotonaut builds photo booths that create memories worth framing. But the full-size pro booth — the one we also built an iOS app for — needs a rider: someone to bring it, run it, take it home. Car brands, hotels, galleries. Companies that want Fotonaut around permanently, not just for one evening, needed a different solution. The brief was clear: build an app for Fotonaut Mini. Hardware that was ready to go, but still needed a soul.
Fotonaut Mini is a six-kilogram aluminium frame housing an iPad, a 16-hour battery, a proper camera flash, and LED lights. The app we built turns it into a full-blown marketing tool. The entire interface can be dressed in a client's visual identity. Logos. Colours. Custom backgrounds. So seamlessly that no one would guess it wasn't designed exclusively for them. Photos print wirelessly on dye-sublimation printers and a live feed streams to a projector on the wall.
To complete the experience, we also built a companion app. Guests log into a specific event, browse their photos, share them, send them on — straight from their phone. The "Miluška's party" folder is ready before the last drink is finished. And underneath all the fun, analytics quietly runs in the background, collecting valuable data. Because a great photo is just the beginning of what a brand can take away from an event.
Hardware and software work as a single organism: the app controls the flash, the LED effects, and every function of the device directly. Without the iPad, it's an elegant frame. Without the app, it's an expensive one. Together, something that delights guests and helps companies build their brand. And think differently about marketing. We came in with code. We left as business partners.
